Traffic Stop on Hwy 81 Leads to Drug Arrest

HOLMES COUNTY: On September 20, 2024, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 81, where Emonte Middlebrooks was identified as the driver.


During the stop, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.


Upon asking Middlebrooks to step out of the vehicle, two pills, later identified as MDMA, fell from his lap as he complied. Middlebrooks was immediately arrested and charged with possession of MDMA.


The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to ensuring the safety of the community and will continue to address illegal drug activity.
