Traffic Stop Yields Methamphetamine

WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL: A Dothan, AL man is in custody in Washington County after deputies located methamphetamine during a traffic stop.


On May 6, at approximately 3:45 p.m., deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on State Rd. 77 near State Rd. 273. During the stop, deputies smell the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle.



A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating baggies of methamphetamine, 2 glass smoking pipes, a controlled substance, and a scale in the vehicle.



66-year-old Lance Joseph Day was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
