Update 3:30pm Two Lock Downs in Coffee County With a Few Minutes of Each Other

(Coffee County) - Medical Center Enterprise has been on lockdown this afternoon, due to a threats being made towards the hospital. Enterprise Police and Coffee County Sheriff Department has cleared the threat and opened the hospital back up.



Moments later, Elba City School was placed on lock down since this afternoon. Elba Police and Coffee County Sheriff is on the scene. There has been reported a possible man with a gun or possible explosive device. These are unconfirmed reports but from reliable resources. The school is still on lock down. ALL KIDS ARE SAFE but being sheltered in place at this time until the situation is brought under control.  


Update 3:30 Enterprise Police have taken someone into custody for the threats against Medical Center Enterprise.  The incident at Elba School turned out to be hoax and there was no danger. 


Great job to Coffee County Sheriff Department, Enterprise Police Department and Elba Police Department. Any time there is danger to the public and specially schools involving our children police take it very seriously. Today, these departments did an outstanding job protecting our community.
