DOTHAN:   06:14 AM     Dothan Police has just terminated a police chase on Highway 52 East at Furnie Folks Road.


A silver Toyota passenger car would not stop for Dothan Police Patrol when the officer activated his blue lights behind the vehicle. 


Do not know where the chase was initiated at. The chase traveled on Highway 84 East and Eddins Road. The chase then ended up east bound on Highway 52 from Dothan. The officer reported light traffic.


The chase proceeded east on Highway 52 passing Ommusee Road and continuing east bound. There were no law enforcement units east of the direction the chase was traveling. The Dothan Police Patrolman, at the orders of the Dothan Police Patrol Supervisor, terminated the chase on Highway 52 at Furnie Folkes Road.


In a few short minutes Houston County 911 received calls a silver Toyota had turned on Old Webb Road off Highway 52 across from the Dollar General. The vehicle had left the roadway and was apparently stuck on the railroad tracks.


The reports to Houston County 911 were a black male exited the vehicle and went into the woods. Shortly thereafter the black male returned to the vehicle and left on a skate board.


Multiple Houston County Sheriff Patrol Deputies, Ashford Police and Dothan Police were on the scene with the suspect vehicle and in the area looking for the suspect. 


Webb Police is responding to handle the accident investigation. No other vehicle was involved in the accident other than the one vehicle.


Houston County Sheriff Department has deployed K-9 track dogs from wherethe vehicle was abandoned to see if they can locate the suspect.


Why the suspect fled is unknown at this time.

Houston County Sheriff Patrol Lieutenant has reported the K-9 handlers have terminated the track of the suspect. The last track was Enon Road.


All law enforcement units are returning to service.
