COWARTS:      6:55 PM      Well, grown men using your money to play games.

Cowarts Mayor Randy Rowland, in an individual capacity and not as Mayor of Cowarts placed a ice machine on his personal property in Cowarts on the corner of Broad Street and Highway 84.

The machine is ready, operational and ready for business. 

Early this morning ( Thursday ) the Houston County Road and Bridge Department ( which operates under the control of the Houston County Commission ) went to the ice machine. BUT, the purpose of the visit was not to get ice. It was the prevent YOU, the registered and unregistered voters from getting ice.

Apparently before daylight the Houston County Road and Bridge Department placed a sign "Houston County Maintained". From that sign, north, Houston County Road and Bridge placed posts to prevent you, the registered and unregistered voters from entering to get ice.

The Houston County Commissioner for that area is Tracy Adams.

This afternoon I visited the ice machine. While there a man and lady drove up to get ice. They were on the way to Birmingham. The drive south of the county drive was open.

Now the Cowarts Mayor, Randy Rowland, the D2 Houston County Commissioner Tracy Adams and the Houston County Engineer Barkley Kirkland, well, how do I say this? They DO NOT like each other. So what does your D2 Houston County Commissioner do because he does not like Cowarts Mayor Randy Rowland. Adams allows the Houston County Engineer to block the drive.

Now, I am sure that D2 Tracy Adams and/or Houston County Engineer Barkley Kirkland will attmept to spin this. But take a drive down Hodgesville Road at Saunders Road. There is an identical ice machine. And Hodgesville Road is "County Maintained". And they allow access.

Mayor Rowland said Adams refuses to do anything for the registered and unregistered voters of Cowarts. 

Rowland has made an investment. D2 Commissioner Adams draws a government paycheck for his job, $ 33,000.00 a year plys $ 250.00 a month auto allowance as a County Commissioner. And acting like a preschooler, because "I CAN", Rowland will show you and cost you money and make it where the registered and unregistered voters can not stop and get ice.

So from D2 Tracy Adams to the registered and unregistered voters, KISS HIS AXE!!!

Further investigation into this, one month ago, during May 2024, Houston County Road and Bridge sent a letter to Randy Rowland requesting plans be submitted for the driveway.

This letter was the same letter sent to anyone the county finds out is placing a drive or placing a business on the county right of way.

The plans were never submitted. When Houston County Road and Bridge noticed the business operating another letter was submitted giving 7 days for the plans to be submitted. The same as they do with any other business.

When no submission of plans, Houston County did as they would with others and blocked the use of the drive.

Some information has been submitted in the last 24 or 48 hours or so. They are not complete. And according to Houston County the required information is required and the same rule is applied equally across the board.
