NEWVILLE:    07:44 AM   Henry County 911 Central has dispatched a structure fire on North Broadway in Newville. 


Reports to Henry County 911 the house is possibly occupied.


Responding units have asked in a panic where in the house is the victim possibly located.


Newville Volunteer Fire, Abbeville Fire, Henry County Sheriff Deputies are responding to the scene. Unknown at this time if Headland Fire is rolling due to SCI Communications being uncooperative.


UPDATED @ 09:26 AM   Multiple fire engines and fireman, some paid and some volunteer, responded to this call in the 800 block of N. Broad Street just north of McLain Street intersection in Newville.


When Henry County Central 911 dispatched the call it was a structure fire and the house was occupied.


Fire Engine Companies from Headland Fire - Rescue, Newville Volunteer Fire, Abbeville Fire - Rescue, Haleburg Fire - Rescue, Headland Fire - Rescue Ambulance, Henry County Emergency Management, Newville Police, Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship all responded.


A Bay Springs Volunteer Fireman was headed to do a job. As most volunteer fireman do his fire gear was in his vehicle. He stopped and assisted making his customer wait. CUSTOMER - the way the volunteer makes a living but life was over salary.


The husband had gone to work and on his way his wife called and stated the house was on fire. The husband called 911 to get emergency units responding.


On arrival the house was on fire. The first arriving fireman were frantic with dispatch asking did the caller identify where the person was in the house. When fireman entered the burning structure one went right and one went left.


The lady was found inside the home. Emergency Medical units, and Headland Fire - Rescue has some great ones, attempted to save the ladies life. They were unsuccessful.


Henry County Coroner Derek Wright was notified and responded to the scene.


The utility company, of which RSN considers a part of the emergency response family, responded and cut power to the residence.


Alabama State Fire Marshall was notified and responded.


Henry County Sheriff Deputies were right in there with the fireman moving ladders and assisting the fireman in battling the fire.


The cause of the fire is unknown. The fire is under investigation. No foul play suspected in the fire.


Everyone did a great job in responding and battling the fire and doing everything within their power to save a life.
