HOUSTON COUNTY: Houston County Deputies are responding to a report of an Assault in Progress on Iris Road.

Multiple Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Criminal Investigators responded to the reports of Assault In Progress in the 2800 block of Iris Road.

The deputies were on the scene in a short time of call dispatched. At least 5 or more marked and unmarked units and at least 9 Sheriff Deputies and/or Criminal Investigators were on the scene.

Reports of the weapon that was in someone's possession was reported to have been placed back inside the home for safe keeping just before units arrived.

One person was taken into custody. The person was reported to be disorderly.

At this time do not know the facts and circumstances. As of this update some deputies and investigators back in service, person under arrest being transported to Houston County Jail. The remaining deputies on the scene and supervisor was busy dealing with complaintants so did not bother them.
