HOUSTON COUNTY:     1:38 PM.     It's been reported there is shots fired from inside the residence on harvest lane, authorities are on scene now.

UPDATED @ 1:38 PM.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Houston County Sheriff Special Response Team have just ended a stand off.

The stand off was on Harvest Lane off Cottonwood Road. It was a house trailer between One Stop Foods and Briar Creek Vet Clinic. NOTE:   One Stop Foods and Briar Creek Vet Clinic had nothing to do with this incident.

Did not hear the original call. But heard deputies report subject had a gun and ran inside the trailer. Deputies on the scene heard shots fired inside the trailer. The subject came to the door yelling at deputies then closed the door.

The subject came to the window of the trailer with his hands on the window then disappeared.

Deputies approached the door and the subject stood at the door yelling at the deputies for a period of time. Deputies seemed patient talking with the subject.

The SRT arrest team finally felt safe enough to approach the subject which they handcuffed him through the broken out window of the storm door.

The subject was taken into custody without injuries to himself or any officer.

Apparently after search the it was confirmed by law enforcement no one was inside the trailer or harmed.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza had taken the day off and was playing golf. Sheriff Valenza left the golf course and responded to the scene and was on the scene. Multiple deputies to include Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle, Major Bill Rafferty, Captain James Ivey, Cpl. Ray Arnold, Sgt. McKinney, Lt. Tracy Ward and multiple other deputies.

Pilcher Ambulance was on the scene standing by for everyone’s safety.

BTW vote YES on Act 2020-191. Pilcher’s standing by, this is a non billable call and the stand by is for free.
