DALE COUNTY:    9:00 AM.   OZARK - DALE COUNTY 911 dispatched emergency vehicles to a single motor vehicle accident on Highway 231 near Ozark.

The accident is north of Dale County Road 30 which is north of the railroad crossing over Highway 231.

Ozark Police Department, Ozark Fire - EMS responded along with Dale County Sheriff Department.

On the arrival of emergency vehicles it was determined a single vehicle accident which appeared northbound on Highway 231. The vehicle left the side of the roadway and struck trees.

Emergency units found one person deceased in the vehicle.

Dale County Deputy Coroner John Cauley is on the scene. Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum, Ozark Police Chief Charles Ward and Dale County Commission Chairman Steve McKinnon are all on the scene.

ALEA - Troopers are on the scene investigating the accident.

Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt has identified the victim of this morning’s single car wreck as Derek McClendon of Ozark.
