OZARK AL.: 11: 05 AM. We are getting (unconfirmed) reports of a possible hostage situation in Ozark. We do know Police are on the scene. As we understand it a male subject pulled a knife on someone at a bank and then ran into a house and has a possible (Unconfirmed) hostage. No more information is available at this time.
We will update when more information comes in.

ALEA - Trooper Ellis Long story short. Ellis started the chase.
The suspect that ran from ALEA Trooper Ellis attempted to rob ALL IN Bank in OZARK.
ALEA - Trooper Ellis stopped the suspect from robbing the bank.
ALEA - Trooper Ellis then chased the suspect to his house where he barricaded himself.
ALEA Swat is on the scene and multiple agencies and officers. Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum is on the scene. Unconfirmed of shots fired on scene.

The SRT made entry and the incident is over and unconfirmed reports are the suspect is deceased. Ozark Police, Dale County Sherriff's Office and ALEA were along scene long with Ozark Fire and Ozark Rescue.
UPDATE AT 3:30PM
Dale County Coroner John Cawley identified the victim as 47-year-old Boyd Phillips of Ozark.
Cawley stated that Phillips was fatally injured during a standoff with authorities in Ozark Monday afternoon.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Boyd threatened several people at an Ozark bank with a knife before fleeing, initiating a chase with a Troopers.
Trooper Kendra McKinney says the chase ended in the 100 block of Hub Street in Ozark and Boyd barricaded himself inside a home.
McKinney advised that Boyd was shot by an ALEA SWAT member during the standoff. SBI will investigate the incident and Press Release will be sent out at a later time.
