DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY: 16:14 PM Dothan Police were in pursuit of a passenger car on Highway 231 South of Dothan.
Houston County Sheriff Department joined the chase.
The initial reason for the traffic stop was a stolen license plate. As chase progressed it was confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of Leon County Florida. The chase started in the 3300 block of South Oates ( Wal-Mart South ). The driver went through Murphy Oil, hit Highway 231 South and was traveling south towards Florida. Only one occupant in the vehicle.
As the chase entered into the intersection of Highway 231 South and Highway 109, the vehicle eluding struck a Nissan truck.
The Nissan truck overturned in the intersection. It was occupied by two people who were working. The vehicle eluding travled on south from the point of impact and caught on fire.
The suspect eluding was in the vehicle eluding, which had Florida license plates. Law Enforcement pulled the driver from the burning vehicle.
The suspect is injured. The injuries are not reported to be life threatening injuries. Rehibeth EMS transported the injured under Dothan Police escort, emergency, to a Dothan hospital. UNCONFIRMED but reported to possibly have a broke leg.
The driver and occupant of the Nissan truck were treated on the scene by Rehobeth Fire - Rescue. No one from the overturned vehicle required transport to the hospital. Impact was so severe on the Nissan truck the entire rear axle was twisted around.
Dothan Police, Houston County Sheriff Department, ALEA - Troopers, Hodgesville Volunteer Department, Rehobeth Fire - Rescue, and Southern Junction Volunteer Fire Department were on the scene.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Houston County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle, Houston County Sheriff Major Bill Rafferty, Houston County Sheriff Captains Donnovan Arias and Tony Turner were all on the scene.
ALEA - Troopers are in charge of the accident investigation. Trooper Spencer Adkinson is in charge of the accident investigation, ALEA Trooper Mosley, ALEA Trooper Corporal Jason McAllister were on the scene.

Houston County Sheriff Deputy Quinton Vann and Dothan Police Officer Harris ( a K-9 Officer ) pulled the suspect from the burning vehicle. And the vehicle was burning, smoke and flames visible.
The white truck had a large gas tank leak. Fuel was pouring.
RSN misspoke about only two people in the white truck. There was a third and it was JESUS. HE wrapped HIS arms around those two in the white truck saving them from serious injuries.
