HOUSTON COUNTY: 06:30 AM. Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Cottonwood Rescue to 100 McLane’s on State Line Road. A male subject is pinned by the forklift and unable to feel legs.
Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Cottonwood Volunteer Fire to assist.
Cottonwood Rescue called for Dothan Fire to be dispatched as Cottonwood rescue was just leaving their station responding based on the nature of the call. This request was in the event advanced life support was needed. Dothan Fire also dispatched the heavy duty rescue truck to respond because there were unknown factors on getting victim free from being pinned.
Madrid Fire Chief Chan Elliot and Rehobeth Fire Chief Nick Floyd rolled.
Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched deputies and Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah.
At 6:36 AM emergency units on the scene reported the patient was free from being pinned. Cottonwood Rescue had patient on the stretcher but was awaiting Dothan’s arrival before departing. Dothan Fire was on Highway 231 and Sonny Mixon Road at the time of update.

The patient is being transported to a Dothan hospital, non emergency, by Cottonwood Rescue.
GOOD JOB to the entire emergency response team. Houston County Sheriff 911 promptly reported known details from person reporting when first dispatched Cottonwood Rescue. Houston County Sheriff 911 promptly dispatched Cottonwood Volunteer Fire and Madrid Volunteer Fire to the scene because of the nature of the call, patient “pinned” by forklift.
Rehobeth Fire Chief Nick Floyd responded upon hearing the nature of the call, “patient pinned”.
Cottonwood Rescue Broc Collins, EMT Basic, recognizing the possible severity of the patient and possible needs for advanced medical intervention immediately called for mutual aid assistance from Dothan Fire Department. And Dothan Fire Department recognizing the possible needs with patient “pinned” rolled Dothan Fire Heavy Duty Rescue truck which carries advanced heavy duty rescue equipment on board.
Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director and Houston County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched based on the nature of the call.
You roll what is needed on worse case based on what is reported to the 911 Center. You never wait until someone on the scene to get the resources needed.
