DOTHAN:    06:32 AM.      Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire to 110 East Spring Street to a structure fire. Reports to 911 fully engulfed and possibly occupied.

As units were responding Dothan 911 advised house collapsed.

On the arrival of Dothan Fire Engine 1 it was reported a single story block residential structure, partially collapsed, Fire visible. 

The resident was located in the back of the residence, outside, badly burned.

Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Ash instructed defensive fire only. The resident told fireman no one else was inside the residence.

The safety team reported the live power mast was on the ground on one side. Chief Ash instructed to red line that area and instructed all fireman DO NOT CROSS THE RED LINE PERIMETER. 

Dothan Utilities has been requested to respond ASAP.

By 6:41 AM the badly burned patient had immediate paramedic care, placed on stretcher and being transported by Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Fire, emergency, to Southeast Health.

The fire was dispatched at 6:26 AM. By 6:41 AM patient rolling in ambulance to Southeast Health.

By 6:48 AM fire fighting was hampered awaiting Dothan Utilities but fire knock down has been reported.

Dothan 911 Team quick with information structure occupied. Within 5 minutes of call hitting 911 fireman and police were on the scene. Within 15 minutes of the call hitting 911 the burned patient was in the ambulance rolling to the hospital.

The 911 Team rolled proper fire engine companies to the scene who quickly went into action.

A team of “we” not “ I “ into action.

Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Ash reported all power has been cut from structure. Chief Ash instructed full defensive fire fighting to resume with extreme caution to fireman be aware of surroundings. 

Chief Ash also had double checked with Dothan Paramedics at the hospital to re-verify no one else in house. Which patient did confirm no one in house.

Dothan Fireman on scene also performed additional scene search and no victims in house.

While fighting this fire Dothan 911 received a medical emergency on South Saint Andrews Street. Dothan Fire Engine 4 rolled. So calls continue even though major fire on going.

The utility companies are very much a part of the first responder family. That was displayed in this fire. Until utility company arrived fire fighting was limited.
