LETCHER KENTUCKY:      A Kentucky Judge was shot and killed today, September 19, 2024 while in the court chambers of the Letcher County Courthouse.


Reports are one person is in custody of law enforcement.


At this time law enforcement authorities have not disclosed the identity of the sitting Judge who was killed or the suspect which was taken into custody.

Law Enforcement officials arrested Letcher Kentucky Sheriff Mickey Stines in the firearm murder of Letcher County District Court Judge Kevin Mullins. News reports are the Sheriff and Judge got into a argument and the Sheriff is arrested and charged with first degree murder.
