HOUSTON COUNTY: 6:15 PM. Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched a call in Gordon in reference to a edged weapon assault. A vehicle was traveling west on Highway 84 from Gordon to Dothan with emergency flashers on.
Houston County Sheriff deputies intercepted the vehicle with flashers on around 84 East and Forrester Road, with emergency flashers, west bound.
Two Houston County Sheriff deputies and one Ashford Police Officer was running emergency escorting the Tahoe with the stabbing victim into the hospital.
Gordon Police Chief Jim Mock was attempting to find the location of the incident.
PRELIMINARY INFORMATION is the people were at the river swimming. They left and realized the wife left her cell phone. They returned and asked someone about the cell phone. A man was pointed out that had the phone.
The man asked the suspected phone thief and he denied that he had the phone. The husband looked in the suspect vehicle and saw the phone. He told the man the phone was right there in his car. At that time the suspect is reported to have stabbed the husband of the lady who lost her phone.
The suspect then fled the scene.
Deputies were at the hospital attempting to relay to the Gordon Police Chief where the crime scene was. Another emergency radio traffic incident was on going at the same time and there was only one channel for all of the law enforcement to operate.
After the emergency radio traffic was stopped the deputies at the hospital were able to communicate to Gordon Police Chief Jim Mock the crime scene was under the bridge on the Alabama Side on Highway 84.
The victims said the suspect went after a 14 year old and he ran away and stabbed the ladies husband. The injury is to the abdomen.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Gordon Police are investigating.

The stabbing victim is in surgery. The suspect has been identified and law enforcement is searching for him.
Gordon Police is in charge of the investigation.
