GENEVA COUNTY:    6:42 PM    Geneva County Central has dispatched units to reports of a possible structure fire on Dixie Road out from Slocomb.

Rolling to the scene Slocomb Fire and EMS, Malvern Volunteer Fire and Operations Chief Kyle Hovey.

Possoble electrical smell.

Operations Chief Hovey is retired from Dothan Fire Department. He has always been with Fadette Volunteer Fire and works with Slocomb Fire Department.

At 6:46 PM Operations Chief Hovey, Rescue Six and Slocomb Fire have arrived on the scene.


Operations Chief Kyle Hovey reports a slight haze inside the residence. He has asked for a thermal image device to be brought inside.

Operations Chief Hovey has instructed units to stand by the fire hydrant until further instructions.

Slocomb Fire Operations Chief Kyle Hovey instructed Geneva County 911 to disregard checks on the fire units on the scene. They continue to check for the source of the haze.

Status checks are performed on a certain schedule by the 911 Center on any emergency units on a scene until those units inform the 911 Center to cancel any status checks.

The CAD ( Computer Aided Dispatch ) alerts the 911 Center to check on the units on a automatic basis unless the 911 Center checks the box to cancel the alert.

At 6:59 PM Slocomb Operations Chief Kyle Hovey declared "loss stopped" and all units return to service. Source of the smoke located, no fire.
