DOTHAN: Not sure what the original call was but a Dothan Police Unit called out on the radio needing help on Stadium Street at Rip Hewes Football Stadium. Multiple other Dothan Police Officers responded. The officer advised the suspect was heading towards Selma Street on a Blue PT Cruiser.
A Dothan Police Officer responding west on Selma Street spotted the described PT Crusier east on Selma Street. As officers were turning around on the vehicle and turned around on it. Before the Dothan Police Officer could catch up to the PT Cruiser suspect vehicle it ran a red light and caused an accident on South Oates Street and Selma Street.
DOTHAN POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT IN PURSUIT OF THE SUSPECTED VEHICLE.
The Dothan Officer called in a brief foot chase. The suspect was taken into custody and placed in the back seat of a cruiser.
