UPDATED @ 9:39 PM MONDAY … the boston butts and ribs will not be available for sale until Thursday. The Goree family will set up Wednesday and begin cooking and have boston butts and ribs ready for sale on Thursday and Friday….

DOTHAN:    Beginning this Wednesday and Thursday at Lowe's the 14th Annual SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE boston butt and rib sale.

The proceeds from the sale of the boston butt and ribs go to the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center.

These are the best boston butts and ribs you will eat.

THIS IS THE 14TH YEAR

AND THIS IS THE FINAL YEAR 

On May 11, 2001 Sarah Elizabeth Goree, a Dothan High School Junior was riding with friends to a school dance. On Westgate Parkway the vehicle Sarah was riding in was in an automobile accident. Sarah's young life was taken in that accident and she passed away from injuries sustained in the accident.

SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE' family is a close family. As the children grew up they were an active family who all loved doing things together. A family full of loving people, caring for people, and thinking of others. You will not find better people then the Goree family.

SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE parents are Bill and Lisa Goree and brother Seth. They owned and operated Liverpool Records and Tapes which was located on Ross Clark Circle in the shopping center where Planet Fitness is located now. Seth married Erin and since their marriage Erin has also been involved in working to make this event a great success.

SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE loved others, especially children. As a family they wanted to do something to keep the memory of SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE alive. So they teamed with the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center and started the SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE annual boston butt sale.

The Goree family has a host of friends. These friends come together each year to help them with this massive undertaking. Some of these friends are so dedicated to helping they take vacation time to help. BAMA RV donates a camper for the family to stay in while cooking the delicious food around the clock. And to Lowe's for making the property available for this sale each year.

Several factors weighed in the decision that after 14 consecutive years, with hundred's of thousands of dollars raised, this is the final year. The delicious food will go quick so you better hurry.

LET THIS BE THE BEST YEAR AS AFTER 14 YEARS IT COMES TO A CLOSE 

When you buy a boston butt or rib, donate extra this year. You can mail a donation in the memory of SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE by sending a check to the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center, 110 Harmony Lane, Dothan, Alabama 36303. Honor Sarah's memory and the Goree family for their 14 years or work to help other children.

The Goree family thanks each and every person who has taken the time to say a prayer for the massive event, helped with the event, or made it a success by purchasing a boston butt or ribs. They are very humbled and thank each and everyone of you.
