DALE COUNTY: Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched a serious/critical accident on County Road 36.
The accident is between Ozark and Echo. It is on the double bridges.
Survival Flight is enroute.

The accident was dispatched at 4:57 PM. The accident was located on the double bridges at North County Road 59 and County Road 36 in Dale County. The accident was on the bridge.
The accident involved a SUV and a passenger car. One patient was entrapped.
Echo Rescue and Ozark Fire and EMS responded along with Dale County Sheriff Deputies and ALEA - Troopers. Other EMS and Fire might have responded also but at this time do not know which ones.
Survival Flight was dispatched but cancelled before landing. One patient, who was trapped, was severally entrapped and deceased. The patient in the other vehicle was ground transported to the hospital. The injured is not believed to be life threatening.
The accident is investigated by ALEA - Troopers.

The accident in Dale County this evening, Survival Flight was not able to respond to the mission, Haynes Ambulance declined the mission for the helicopter, and Flat Iron was unable to handle the mission.
The Dale County Coroner's Office was called to respond to the scene. There was an extensive extrication of the victim of the accident.
Echo Fire and EMS are the primary responder to this scene and was on the scene in about 5 minutes from the dispatch of the call. Echo Fire and EMS has extrication equipment and a modern, trained work force serving the people of Dale County. Ozark Fire was called in to assist with the extrication and Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum's vehicle with a winch was utilized.
The Dale County Coroner's Office is not releasing the name at this time.
ALEA - Troopers are investigating this accident. As with all fatalities they conduct a detailed investigation. Over the next several days you will pass and see Troopers on the scene as they reconstruct the accident scene and prepare a detailed investigative report. That is standard protocol in all traffic fatalities investigated by ALEA.
