>PINCKARD:   00:49 AM   Ozark - Dale County dispatched a semi verses pickup truck on Highway 231 North, north of Bethany Church, in Pinckard City Limits. The reports are serious critical injuries.

Multiple Dale County Sheriff Deputies responded along with Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum.

Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson said Survival Flight was dispatched to the scene as per protocal. Olson said Pilcher Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene.

The call was dispatched at 11:57 PM. The landing zone was established and marked by Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum.

Pinckard Police are in charge of the accident investigation. Pinckard Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

While EMS from Pilcher Ambulance and Survival Flight were treating the injured Pinckard Volunteer Fireman searched the area around the wreck scene for any other injuries.

At 00:54 AM Survival Flight has the patient loaded in the helicopter and preparing for take off. The flight medics are trained above a Paramedic. They are allowed to do more extensive treatment to a patient then regular paramedics. An example, as explained to me, they can cut your air way off and take over your breathing. So an extensive amount of time on scene was spent treating the patient and what is referred to packaging the patient, such as IV, backboards, etc. prior to departure to the hospital.

Certain patients, most especially burn patients, ( this is not a burn patient ) are flown directly to UAB or a burn center from the scene and never land at a local hospital.

Pinckard Volunteer Fire has requested Dothan Fire Haz Mat unit respond to the accident scene. There is about 100 gallons of fuel spilled on the roadway.
