DALE COUNTY:    5:22 PM     There has been a chase on Highway 123 in Ozark near Water Treatment Plant.


One vehicle accident where one patient was ejected. There has been a second person reported to be detained.


Ozark Fire - Rescue responded. Ozark Police was in the chase. Dale County Sheriff Department and Newton Police Department are on the scene. Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum is on the scene.

Ozark Police Department initiated a pursuit on a theft suspect from Walmart. During the pursuit, they asked for assistance from Dale County Sheriff Department. The driver was driving into oncoming traffic, and very recklessly through parking lots with pedestrians present.


The Dale County Sheriff Deputy in fear for the safety for the innocent motoring public performed a pit maneuver on South Highway 123 between Ozark and Newton.


The Female driver was ejected and is currently in a local hospital in critical condition.
