UPDATED at 4:00 PM... Motor Vehicle Accident on County 28 in Geneva County

GENEVA COUNTY: At 8:52 AM... Multiple Fire and Rescue Units from Slocomb and Hartford responded to a motor vehicle in the 1600 block of County Road 28 USA East of Slocomb to a motor vehicle accident with rollover.

Four people were take to Dothan Hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle ran off the road and flipped multiple times possibly throwing three people out of the vehicle. 

Slocomb Police, Geneva County EMA and multiple ALEA Troopers responded. The accident is under investigation by the ALA Troopers.

DOTHAN POST – A single-vehicle crash at approximately 8:44 am on Friday November 13, 2020, has claimed the life of a Geneva County woman. Crystal Gayle Jernigan, 42, of Slocomb, was killed when the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe she was a passenger in, left the roadway and overturned. Jernigan was not using a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Flowers Hospital in Dothan where she was pronounced dead. Three other occupants in the vehicle were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash occurred on County Road 28, just east of Slocomb.  Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
