HOUSTON COUNTY: Houston County 911 issued a BOLO for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop in Washington County. A Houston County Deputies spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The driver of the vehicle said no and took off with speeds of 100 mph. When deputies got closer to the Dothan City Limits the pursuit was terminated due to traffic conditions.
Dothan Police spotted the vehicle and reported it was East bound on East Main at speeds of 100-110 mph. Dothan Police followed but did not ingage due to their pursuit policy.
By the time deputies were able to catch up to the suspect he had turned off US 84 somewhere in the Cowarts Area. Deputies and Ashford Police boloed the area but never were able to locate the suspect. Gordon Police was watching for the vehicle in his JD.
The driver was running on outstanding felony warrants out of Georgia.

The chase of the black Acuru crossed Highway 84 at County Road 33. Vehicle is southbound towards Lovetown at speeds of 110 to 115 MPH.
The vehicle has turned off County Road 33 and visual sighting has been lost at this time.
The suspect has outstanding felony warrants.
Sheriff Supervisor has ordered officers to terminate the chase because of dangerous road conditions.
Along with Houston County Sheriff Department, Ashford Police Department and Cottonwood Police Department involved in the chase.

Houston County Deputies are on Sowell Road with the suspect‘s vehicle in the back of a field. K-9‘s are tracking the suspect south away from Eddies Road. The suspect is a white male with a white t-shirt.

Houston County Sheriff Major Bill Rafferty confirmed the suspect is now considered ARMED and DANGEROUS.
The K-9 track team found a house off Sowell Road it appears a long gun has been stolen.
This is a white male suspect with felony warrants out of Georgia and Florida. He carried law enforcement on a high speed chase earlier and lost him. The car was later found off Sowell Road, abandoned.
Alabama Game and Fish, ALEA - Troopers, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Dothan Police are assisting in the search for the suspect.
USE CAUTION in that area. Do not open your doors for anyone you do not know. Call 911 if you see someone.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza is on the scene.

The suspect has been taken into custody. Sheriff's Deputies apprehended the suspect at a trailer park on Middleton Road. This is the same suspect that fled police in Washington County and from law enforcement officials here in Houston County most of today.
