DOTHAN:    8:38 PM.  Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police - Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) and Pilcher Ambulance to Bissette Drive at Abby Oakes Apartments.

The victim was on the phone with 911 and stopped talking. All 911 can hear is the person moaning and can not get the victim to communicate with the 911 operator.

Dothan Police Officers are attempting to identify which apartment the actual victim is in. The officers are going apartment to apartment and in hopes can hear the 911 Dispatcher talking. The victim appears to be on speakerphone with the 911 Dispatcher.

Dothan Fire Engine 4 and Pilcher Ambulance are staged a safe distance away until police locate the victim and declare the scene safe.

UPDATED @ 8:44 PM.  

Dothan Police Officers have found an apartment with a broken back door. Dothan Officers are making entry into the apartment.

The officers have declared they have located the victim in Apartment 59, and the apartment is clear and Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance can make entry into the apartment by the front door.

At 8:45 PM Dothan Police Patrol reported this is possibly “not” a firearm assault. At 8:46 PM Dothan Police Patrol Sgt. Barbaree confirmed it is a firearm assault.

Sgt. Barbaree has ordered crime scene tape deployed around the scene and Dothan Criminal Investigators be dispatched to the scene.

UPDATED @ 9:21 PM.  

The firearm assault victim was transported to southeast Health under trauma alert sometime ago by Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance.

Dothan Police Patrol Division and Dothan Police Criminal investigators and Crime Scene Investigators continue their investigation.

The victim from the shooting is deceased.
