HOLMES COUNTY, FLORIDA: On November 14, investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the residence of Samual Phillips on Highway 173 in an effort to serve an outstanding warrant.
Upon arrival, contact was made with Phillips and Aldric Brown, who were standing outside with a small child.
When asked if he had any firearms in the home, Phillips, who is a convicted felon, stated that there were two under his mattress. Investigators then asked if there was anything else illegal inside the home. Phillips admitted to having methamphetamine in the home as well, which investigators did locate in a bathroom.
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Phillips was arrested on charges of a felon in possession of firearms, possession of methamphetamine, and child neglect due to the firearms and meth being within the reach of the child who was present.
A check with dispatch revealed that Brown also had an active warrant for failure to appear. He was taken into custody as well.
Both men were transported to the Holmes County Jail without incident.
