LONG BEACH: When I served as Chairman of the City of Dothan - Houston County Communications District Board one of my goals was for informational videos of "our" people on different topics.
Those topics would be what is a 911 dispatcher?, What is involved in training for a 911 dispatcher? Why does 911 operators ask certain questions? However that goal was never reached, but I wanted our own people speaking.
This is the same goal that I have for Houston County EMS Association. The members of Houston County EMS Association include: Ashford EMS, Columbia EMS, Cottonwood EMS, Dothan Fire Department - EMS Division, Pilcher Ambulance, Rehobeth EMS and Wicksburg EMS.
Since the beginning the members have been meeting weekly and working as a team to improve Emergency Medical services in all 582 square miles of Houston County.
The video featured in this article is not a Houston County video but one from Long Beach. It speaks to procedures when you call 911 and might be COVID positive or have the symptoms indicating COVID.
The procedures depicted that 911 is asking are the same as you get at Dothan 911 or Houston County 911. So I wanted to feature them and hopefully pass on the questions are important and there are reasons for asking them, and reasons for asking patients, if possible, to meet outside the residence.
ON ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 2
DO YOU FAVOR ACT 2020 -191
THIS WILL HELP EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
IN ALL 582 SQUARE MILES OF HOUSTON COUNTY
