HENRY COUNTY:    12:53 AM   Abbeville Police made a traffic stop on Highway 431. Henry County Sheriff Deputies assisted the Abbeville Police Officer on the traffic stop.

One suspect was taken into custody for drugs and transported to Henry County Jail by a Henry County Sheriff Deputy.

A second suspect, who is a felon had possession of a firearm. That suspect was handcuffed, properly, by procedure, and placed in the Abbeville Police Tahoe that was equipped with a cage.

The Henry County Sheriff Deputy and Abbeville Police Officer were dealing with a third person that was with the two males. A female.

The officers, knowing the Abbeville Police Tahoe was equipped with a cage, knowing the suspect was handcuffed and secured per policy, had their focus on the female.

Somehow, while the officers were dealing with the third person, the male in the Abbeville Police Tahoe was able to get the handcuffs from behind to in front of him and escape from the Abbeville Tahoe.

The suspect then was able to get into the Henry County Sheriff Explorer. The Abbeville Officer and Henry County Sheriff Deputy, in a "OH CRAP" moment, jumped into the Abbeville Tahoe and the chase was on.

At about 11:20 PM Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Abbeville Police Officer, in the Abbeville Police Tahoe were in a hot pursuit. At Highway 431 and Henry County 45 the Abbeville Tahoe was in a position to perform a pit maneuver and spin the Henry County Sheriff vehicle around, across the four lane and into a guard rail, and to a stop.

The Abbeville Police Officer and Henry County Sheriff Deputy were able to rapidly then take him into custody before he had access to more weapons. The suspect still had handcuffs on, in front of him.

The pit and crash occurred at Highway 431 and Henry County 45.

The law enforcement officers were in extreme danger because the suspect in the stolen Henry County Sheriff Explorer had access to the officers rifle and ammunition.

How the suspect was able to get out of the cuffs behind his back and out of the Abbeville Police vehicle is unknown. But the suspect did so while the officers were dealing with the female.

The male suspect who stole the Sheriff vehicle is believed to be wanted in other jurisdictions.

No law enforcement officer was injured, a GREAT THING. As long as the thin blue line, who places their lives on the line, go home to their families.

BECAUSE - BLUE LIVES MATTER A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT!!!

AND ALL LIVES MATTER, EVEN THE DUMMIES WHO RESIST, STEAL LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLES AND PLACE THEM IN DANGER.

The suspect was transported to Southeast Health where he was treated for minor injuries, mostly for his feelings hurt and a felon in possession of a firearm, and multiple other charges.
