DECATUR: A fire that closed the Walmart Supercenter in Southwest Decatur for about two days last week is being investigated as arson, according to Decatur police.
Police spokeswoman Emily Long said the department is looking for a female suspect who may have been involved with the blaze that occurred in the middle of the store, at 2800 Spring Ave. S.W., shortly after noon Wednesday.
“Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined a female suspect started the fire in the store,” Long said in a news release Monday afternoon. “It appears the perpetrator leaves the parking lot in a small, white SUV.”
