MIDLAND CITY:    On Friday Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Midland City Police to a firearm assault. At dispatch Ozark - Dale County 911 reported to Midland City Police the firearm victim was being transported by private auto to the hospital.


A Midland City Police unit arrived the emergency department about the same time the firearm assault victim arrived at the emergency department.


MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (WDHN) – A Midland City woman is behind bars and is accused of shooting a man 5 times after an argument on a basketball court.


Micaela Newby, 37, of Midland City was arrested Friday night after police say the victim, in this case, was playing basketball with some kids in the Kelly Avenue neighborhood, where officers say they were talking with each other on the court and Newby didn’t like what was being said, so Newby approached the victim.
