Dothan - Dothan Communication dispatched multiple Dothan Fire units to Mural City Coffee for a structure fire with smoke visible from third floor. Engine 1, Captain Knowles, arrived first and advised they did have smoke from roof area and they would be going interior to investigate. Captain Jack Wood is acting as Battalion Chief today and he arrived to command the scene. Captain Wood was one of the Volunteer Fireman who stayed up late last night fighting the fire on Saunders Road. Captain Knowles and his crew made their way to the roof and found a motor that was on fire. Using a fire extinguisher from the fire engine, they were able to extinguish the fire. Engine 8, lead by Captain Zack Parrish, arrived and staged their engine by a fire hydrant in case the fire was large enough for an additional water supply. Engine 8 had just left a medical call and was in the area when the fire was dispatched. Engine 3, Captain Dusty Trawick, and crew assisted inside with cutting power to the business to isolate the motor that was on fire. They also did a search of the building to ensure that no one was inside the structure. Truck 1, the ladder truck being officered by Sergeant Matt Lawhorn, set up the ladder to reach the roof as a point of escape if needed for the crew on top. Within minutes of the dispatch these crews were able to have an "Under Control" meaning fire was out. Great job everyone
