GENEVA COUNTY:     6:07 PM.   Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms, members of the Geneva County Sheriff Department, and possible other agencies are on the scene of Geneva County Road 49.

RSN does know that track K-9’s have been deployed. 

Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms reports that Holmes County Sheriff Deputies were in pursuit of a vehicle, cross into Alabama on Geneva County Road 49. The vehicle wrecked and a black male subject ran on foot.

Geneva County Sheriff Department, Slocomb Police and Holmes County Sheriff Department have a perimeter set up and searching in a area of a lot of planted pines. Geneva County K-9 on the ground. Jackson County Sheriff Donnie Edenfield has dispatched Jackson County Sheriff K-9 Beagle track team.

Holmes County Sheriff John Tate is on the scene along with Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms.

Anyone with information or see’s someone suspicious is urged to call 911 and report it.

As more information is available we will update.

UPDATED @ 8:50 PM.  The Search is still underway. Law Enforcement still has a perimeter established. Track dogs from agencies to include Jackson County Sheriff Department are on the scene.

Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms and members of Geneva County Sheriff Department, Holmes County Sheriff John Tate and members of Holmes County Sheriff Department, Jackson County Sheriff Donnie Edenfield and members of Jackson County Sheriff Department, Geneva County Emergency Management Director Brian Smith and other agencies are involved.

They have found a shoe, socks and pants. They are still searching. If you see or hear anything, call 911 and report to law enforcement. DO NOT open the door for anyone you do not know who they are.
