The City of Dothan encourages everyone to stay off the roads today. Read other updates below:

• Due to increased forecasted snowfall amounts (potentially up to 6”), the City of Dothan will close City Offices on Wednesday, January 22nd. Essential personnel will remain on-duty for the public’s safety.
• With the closing of City Offices, the City of Dothan will also close all recreation centers. These centers, which served as warming stations during normal operating hours, will now be closed. If you need shelter from the extreme cold weather conditions, First Baptist Church is operating a warming station. For more information, please contact 2-1-1.
• Dothan Utilities encourages customers to not overload electrical circuits during this time.
Please refrain from operating high electrical demand appliances during this period of extremely cold winter weather.
• Environmental Services (Garbage and Recycling Service) – Regular garbage and recycling routes will run today, Tuesday, January 21st. With the impending snow and ice that is anticipated in Dothan, Wednesday’s normal routes will be moved to Friday, January 24th. There may be delays this week, so please be patient with your residential service.
• City of Dothan personnel are monitoring local street conditions. It may become necessary to close local streets. This determination will be made later today. Roadways should be kept clear so emergency personnel and essential employees may travel safely to their places of employment. PLEASE stay off the roadways and be mindful of those who absolutely need to be out during this weather event.
