Can your child, aged 8- 18 cook? If so, they should enter the 2013 KIDS COOK sponsored by Tyndall Federal Credit Union in conjunction with the 8th annual Tri_State BBQ Festival! Students will have a "grill-off" Saturday April 13 at the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama. Winners in each age group will receive $100 cash, and runners up will get $50. The top 5 in each age group will get a trophy. All who enter receive an apron, admission for themeselves and a parent or guardian to the Tri-State BBQ Festival on Saturday, as well as the meat to cook for the competition.

Cooking is a life skill that everyone should learn, but sadly these days fewer and fewer kids learn how to cook and clean as early as we did growing up. This contest will help promote a life skill and will be a fun and tasty event. The kids will be grilling right beside the professional and backyard competitors at the Tri-State BBQ Festival and they will see hundreds of folks competing in a cooking contest, which should fuel their desire to learn more about competition barbecue. We appreciate you helping us spread the word to interested kids about this event!
