Community Event in Clayhatchee ALAt 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, the little town of Clayhatchee will celebrate Christmas at Old Providence Chapel. The old-fashioned event is geared for families with carol singing, sc ripture reading, story time for the children, and a heart-warming candlelight service.The children will be excited when Santa makes his promised appearance with gifts. He has also promised to hang around and operate a s’mores bar after the program.Refreshments, including hot and cold drinks, will be served in the Rose Cottage. Attendees are invited to gather around the fire pits for conversation and more caroling.Old Providence Chapel can be described as a Hallmark Christmas card without the snow. It is a lovely 19th century white church that has been carefully restored by the Old Providence Foundation as a local landmark and venue for community events and weddings.This event is free and open to the public.
