Southeast Alabama Community Theatre’s Wiregrass Drama Club Competition Team presents a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. This student production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. tells the tale of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self, but time is running out! If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

This 60-minute adventure is perfect for families introducing the live theatre experience to children and grandchildren. Tickets are $16 each and available through the Dothan Civic Center Box Office by calling (334) 615-3175, or online at SEACT.com.

 
Beauty and the Beast Jr. is on stage Feb. 23-25, at the Dothan Opera House. Performances begin nightly at 7:00 PM, and there is a 2:00 PM matinee on Saturday. Doors open 60 minutes before curtain. Seating begins 30 minutes before curtain. Performance time is 1 hour. Appropriate for general audiences.
