AALIYAH AND HALEY  SCOGGINS


 


ABBEVILLE. . .Aaliyah Jordan Scoggins, age 13, and her sister, Haley Alyssa Scoggins, age 11, both residents of Abbeville, died early Saturday morning, April 14, 2012.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in the First Baptist Church of Abbeville with Reverend Mike Whitt and Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating.  Graveside services will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Reverend Gerald Ross officiating.  Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, 368 County Line Road, Dothan, AL. 36305.


Aaliyah and Haley were lifelong residents of Abbeville.  Aaliyah was a 7th grade student at Abbeville High School and Haley was a 5th grade student at Abbeville Elementary School. Aaliyah and Haley were members of the Judson Baptist Church and were also active in all local churches. Both were avid softball players in the City of Abbeville Recreation League and loved swimming.  Aaliyah and Haley were preceded in death by their grandfather, Amos Murphy and great-grandparents, Britt Ludlam, Buford Murphy, Ruth Murphy, Jerry Golden, Ima Scoggins and Marvin Scoggins.


            Surviving relatives include their father, Jeremy Wayne Scoggins and wife, Kandace, Abbeville; their mother, Tina Michelle Murphy, Abbeville; a brother, Jeremy Kade Scoggins, a sister, Kyli Baxter; grandparents, Pam Ludlam Murphy, Abbeville; Anita Scoggins (Donnie Singleton), Eufaula; Johnny Scoggins (Janice Brady), Haleburg; Great-grandparents, Mary Frances (Tud) Stinson and husband, Charlie, Abbeville; Betty Golden, Eufaula; an aunt, Gina (Aunt G) Murphy; uncles, Charles Amos (Chuck) Murphy and wife, Gina; and John Scoggins and wife, Brandy; several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
