Mr. Acie “Pony” Weeks of Samson passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at his home following an extended illness. He was 80.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Dannelley Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Weeks was born on February 10, 1943 to the late Acie Columbus and Callie E. Dannelley Weeks. He was a carpenter by trade and later in life, he enjoyed tinkering with small engines. Pony was an humble soul who believed in living a quiet and simple life. He believed in his Lord and Savior, trusting that all his needs would be taken care of.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Baker Weeks; seven siblings, Drew, Leon, Tom, Don and Hugh Weeks, Lummie Lou Weeks Stafford and Edna Weeks Lawson.

He is survived by several special nieces, nephews and cousins; special great nieces and nephews and special cousins and caregivers, Marecia Dannelley Zorn, Kasey Zorn Chesteen both of Samson, AL and Kristen Zorn Goodson of Dothan, AL.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Chesteen, Tim King, Link Dannelley, Shaun Lawson and Jaxon Donaldson.
