Addie Mae Wood Whitaker Paul passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024. She was 98.

 A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Rev. Woodie Dupree officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Addie Mae was born in Geneva Co., AL on March 23, 1926 to the late Archie Richard and Annie Bell Hughes Wood. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a faithful member of Living Water Church in Samson, AL. Addie Mae loved her church and church family.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Wilmer Whitaker; one son, Joseph Gerome “Buddy” Whitaker and one grandson, Kenneth Jennings.

 Mrs. Addie Mae is survived by two daughters, Betty J. McGowan (Jerry) of Westville, FL and Judy Overton of Dothan, AL; 4 grandsons, Lawrence Whitaker (Jamie) and Richard Whitaker, all of Geneva, AL, Gerald Jennings of Panama City, FL and Melvyn McGowan of San Diego, CA; one great granddaughter, Victoria McGowan of San Diego, CA; one sister, Annie Pearl Campbell and one brother, Eugene Wood (Joyce), all of Geneva, AL and a number of special nieces, nephews and extended family.
