Agnes Elizabeth Burtick, a woman of faith and kindness, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on January 22, 1947, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Erwin Wirth and Elizabeth Stankius Wirth, Agnes brought light and warmth into the world that will be dearly missed.

Agnes was a dedicated professional who devoted her life to the service of others. She received her nursing certificate from Sacred Heart in Pennsylvania and compassionately cared for others as an ER nurse and later in nursing homes. Her work was a deep source of fulfillment, and she was revered by her colleagues and patients for her kindness and dedication. In 2012, she moved to Dothan, where she continued her commitment to helping others.

Beyond her professional life, Agnes was a woman of diverse interests and deep faith. She was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Nativity and her faith was an integral part of her life. She enjoyed attending church services, being active in small groups, and serving in the Altar Guild. Agnes also spent time helping her daughter in her classroom and working as a tutor for the Bright Key program at Selma Street Elementary School.

Agnes had a deep love for animals and was a proud sponsor of the ASPCA. Her own Papillon dog, Angel, brought her immeasurable joy and companionship.

She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Colleen Stephens (Curtis), and son, Shawn Cassidy. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Owen Stephens and Haley Justice (Seth). She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Cassidy, Harry Jenkins, and Peter Burtick, her parents, Erwin Wirth and Elizabeth Stankius Wirth, and her sister, Bernice Enright. Her family will remember her as a source of strength and love.

Agnes Elizabeth Burtick's life was a testament to the power of faith, the joy of service, and the beauty of kindness. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. May her soul rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
