Alex H. Miller, age 93, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home.


          Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Lee Street Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Doster and Rev. Slade Stinson officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.


          Mr. Miller was born July 26, 1925 to the late Thomas G. and Lula Maude Miller of the Mt. Pleasant Community.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen Yelverton Miller; his brothers, Tim Miller and Wallace Miller and his sister, Fleeta Meredith.


          He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Skip Hemp of Enterprise and Janet and Jeff Humphrey of Level Plains; four grandchildren, Arielle (Jeff) Gordon, Aaron Hemp, Robert Humphrey (Katie) and Michael Humphrey (Jordan); five great-grandchildren, Alex and Maisie Grace Gordon, Miller Hemp, William and Benjamin Humphrey; and his sister, Mary Helen Smith.


          Mr. Miller loved God, his family and his church.  He owned and operated his business, Miller Plumbing and Electric for 60 years.  He retired in 2012 at the age of 87.


          The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, Cynthia, Geraldine and Brenda from Center Home Care, sitters, Sue Pierce and Micki Lowe and a special thank you to Jean Minor for her love and care of “Papa” and his family.
