ALICE  HUFFSTETLER  MEREDITH


 


WETUMPKA….Alice Huffstetler Meredith, a resident of Wetumpka, formerly of Headland, died Wednesday morning, May 30, 2012 at the home of her daughter.  She was 80.


 


            Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 1, 2012, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Harrison Steege officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary.


 


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Tumbleton Community Pentecostal Church “Building Fund”, P O Box 149, Headland, AL  36345.


 


            Mrs. Meredith was born in Chester, South Carolina and reared in York, South Carolina, daughter of the late Wes Huffstetler and Allison Goddard Huffstetler. She lived in Moorehaven and Clewiston, Florida before moving to Headland in 1982 where she lived until moving to Wetumpka in 2002. Mrs. Meredith attended the Tumbleton Community Holiness Church in the Tumbleton Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lawrence Meredith, an infant daughter and all her brothers and sisters.


 


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Cathy Caples and husband, Bobby, Wetumpka; three sons, Edward H. Brooks and wife, Ellen, Abbeville; R.K. Brooks and wife, Ruby, Alford, FL and Chris Brooks and wife, Joyce, York, SC; half-brother, William Huffstetler; eight grandchildren, Sheila Adair (Scott), Glenda Childers, Kelli Childers (William Thornton), Jessica Brooks, Wesley Brooks, Lawrence Brooks (Jennifer), James Boles (Rita) and Michelle Brakefield (Greg); eleven great-grandchildren, Marcus Adair, Devin Goodwin, Brandon Lee Austin Durney, Haley Boles, Emily Boles, Shelby Brakefield, Colby Brakefield, Christopher Brooks, Peyton Brooks, Hayden Brooks and Ali Brooks; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.


 


            Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
