Alice was a cherished member of her community and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Her warm presence and generous spirit were the cornerstones of her family, and she is survived by her daughters, Gail Kelley (Twiggs) and Belinda Benefield (David). She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren, Gracie Ann Bell, Lily Irene Hall, Adam Cedric Benefield, Brandon Taylor Benefield, Jackson Sinclair Benefield, Lisette Margarite Smythe, and Parker Stanford Benefield, as well as her 12 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Alice is also survived by her sister, Paula Faye Register, and two nieces and a nephew, who will forever cherish the memories they shared.

Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Paul and Sammie Johnson, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience that she carried throughout her life.

Alice's educational journey included two years at Florence State College of Teaching, where she cultivated a love for learning and growth. She worked at Midland State Bank in the early 70s and later owned a printing company.

A woman of many interests, Alice found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed gardening, finding solace and happiness in the beauty of nature. Her love for reading was a source of endless knowledge and adventure. Alice was also a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church and the Kay Williams Sunday School Class, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community.

Her involvement with the P.E.O. Sisterhood was a reflection of her commitment to supporting women's education and her belief in the empowerment of women everywhere. Alice's gentle spirit and loving nature were evident in every aspect of her life, and she was often described as the epitome of love, kindness, and gentleness.

Alice's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, care, and community. She raised two daughters with the same nurturing spirit that she carried in her own heart, and her influence will live on in the generations that follow.
