ALICE C. THOMAS


FT. GAINES, GA… Alice C. Thomas, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, formerly of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday night, November 20, 2021, at Fort Gaines Health & Rehabilitation. She was 69.


            Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Marlon Vickers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


            Ms. Thomas was born in Headland, Alabama to the late Johnny Lee Oates and Lillian Mathis Oates Kincey. She lived her entire life in the Headland, Alabama area. She was a 1970 Graduate of Headland High School. After high school she attended Wallace Community College. She was a very active member of the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for many years.


            Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Johnny Oates and a grandson, Malik Thomas.


            Leaving to cherish her memories are her two sons, Eddie Thomas and Cedric Thomas (Lashundra Brown and her children, Ashantey Brown and Akeelah Brown); her brothers, Terri Oates and Kenneth Oates; her grandchildren, Niesha Thomas, Ticiana Walker, A’Chasitey Thomas, and Amber Thomas; her aunt, Catherine Humphrey.
