Allen Talmadge Ehlers, 53, of Arlington, Texas died July 18, 2019 at home after a short illness with cancer. A native of Atlanta, Georgia he moved to Texas in 1996 where he owned businesses in ranching and trucking.


Allen will be remembered by his many by adventures in his life.


He is survived by his mother, Janus Annie Merrill Hughes and his stepfather Vance Hughes of Americus, GA; his aunts and uncles, Kent and Melissa Merrill; Lorie and Jimmy Felton of Tifton, GA. He was preceded by his father Albert G. Ehlers; by his paternal grandparents Albert T and Dora Ehlers; by his maternal grandparents Cowdery and Betty Merrill. Karalee Bellah his loving companion of 18 years from Arlington, Texas; his chosen children that taught him how to be a real Dad, Ashlee, Jimmy, Jessica, Peepers; his chosen grandson Blayton; his dear friends Nell, Dave, Diane, Brittany and Katey.


Graveside services will be held at the Dothan City Cemetery on July 27, 2019 at 11:00 am. Sunset Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
