Alyne Merle Blevins

Alyne Merle Moss Hartley Blevins, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 92.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2011, at Enon Church of Christ, near Webb, with Minister Mike Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

 

Mrs. Blevins was born in Cottonwood, October 30, 1919, and resided in Columbus, GA, Sanford, FL, and Houston County, AL. She was employed with GTE for 26 years prior to her retirement. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by four brothers and a son-in-law, Billy Hopkins. She was a member of Enon Church of Christ.

 

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, George Blevins, Dothan; a daughter, Betty Hopkins, Ashford; two grandchildren, Scarlett Hopkins, of Alaska, and Steve Hopkins, Ashford; four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a brother, A. D. (Carolyn) Moss, Dothan; a sister-in-law, Martha Moss, Ashford; several nieces and nephews.
