AMY MILLER BRASWELL

DOTHAN.…Amy Miller Braswell, a resident of Dothan, passed away Tuesday night, December 10, 2019 at a Dothan hospital. She was 49.

            Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 13, 2019 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Mike Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory, near Headland. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory.

             Amy was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, but moved to the Dothan / Headland area where she lived most of her lifetime.  She was a 1988 graduate of Headland High School and continued her education at Troy State University where she received a B.S. Degree in early childhood education.  After obtaining her degree she taught in the Dothan City School system, at Cloverdale Elementary School for 18 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher.  Her love for children did not end with just school, she was very active at her church, Grandview Baptist Church, where she was very active in all things dealing with the children, Vacation Bible School, G.A.’s, and a Sunday school teacher to name just a few. Amy also loved to crochet and do needle point. She was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Irene Stine.

            She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Mike Braswell; her daughter, Ashleigh Braswell; her step-father, Ed Stine (Sonya), of Brundidge, AL; a sister, Angie Danford (Pat) of  Taylor, AL, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buddy and Barbara Braswell, of Dothan; a brother-in-law, Lee Braswell (Robin), of Headland; and several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Cook, Robert Pflug, Stuart Grimes, Terry Parramore, Chris Cooper, and Tommy Starling.
