A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Jim Dane officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park. A Rosary Service will be held at 6 pm on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
Ana Elsa Campos, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at a local hospital. She was 81 years old.
Ana was born on September 28, 1941 in Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Juan and Rita Campos. She would reside in Mexico until she was in her 30’s and relocate to New Mexico. Ana received her Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual Studies in English from Instituto de America in Chihuahua, Mexico. She worked with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 15 years and with the DEA for seven years until her retirement. Following her retirement in 2019, Ana would move to the Wiregrass Area. Ana enjoyed baking sweets to share with her family and friends, traveling, and playing poker. Ana was a devout Catholic and loved going to Mass at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parrish in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Marie and son-in-law, Eric D. Larabee; her brother, Dr. Juan Gilberto Campos Tovar and Lydia Aragon De Campos of Chihuahua, Mexico; her sisters, Laura Edith Campos Tovar of Monterey, Mexico and Dora Alma Campos Tovar of Mexico City, Mexico; her cousins, Juan Pablo and Heidi Campos and their children, Ivan Jackson Campos and Gabriela Campos all of Calgary, Canada, Rocio Campos and Edwardo Soto, and their daughter, Eugenia Soto Campos, Marianna Campos, Jorge and Roberta Campos, and their daughter, Catalina Campos, all of Chihuahua, Mexico.
