HALEBURG. . .Angus M. Scott, Jr., a resident of Haleburg, died early Monday morning, May 25, 2020, in the Washington Rehab & Nursing Center in Chipley, Florida. He was 78.

     Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in the Haleburg Baptist Church with Pastor James Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Haleburg Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haleburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 115, Headland, AL 36345.

     Mr. Scott was born in Henry County, near Newville, son of the late Angus McCallister Scott, Sr. and Mavis Ryals Scott. He lived in Miami, Florida and Dothan before moving to Haleburg. Mr. Scott was self employed as a heavy equipment operator most all his adult lifetime. He was preceded in death by a son, Vance Scott, a grandson, Aaron Scott, and two brothers, Thomas Scott and Henry Scott.

     Surviving relatives include a son, Angus Scott, III (Amanda), Haleburg; a daughter, Lynda Scott, Loxahatchee, FL; two sisters, Mary Granda, Miami, FL; and Catherine Moss, Gainesville, FL; a brother, Robert Scott (JoAnne), Haleburg; six grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Ashley, Angus IV, Allison, and Alisa; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Sawyer.
