Ms. Anita Moncrief Jones, a former resident of Montgomery, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at her son’s home in Dothan, AL. She was 70.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Montgomery with Reverend Kyle Gatlin officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Taylor Senior Citizens Center, 1457 State Hwy. 605, Taylor, AL, 36301.

Ms. Jones was born November 21, 1952 in Montgomery, AL to William Franklin Moncrief, Sr. and Lola Agnes Beck Moncrief. She resided in various places including Montgomery, Dothan and DeFuniak Springs, Florida during her lifetime.

She was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School and later earned her Associates Degree at AUM. She was employed with the State of Alabama in the DHR department, for 30 years. Ms. Jones had a love for children, animals, crafting and flea markets. She was a member of Eastdale Baptist Church in Montgomery where she actively worked with children for over 20 years.

She is predeceased by her parents and a brother, Danny Moncrief.

Survivors include a son, Brian Jones (Penelope) of Dothan; a brother, Bill Moncrief, Jr. (Susan) of Wetumpka; a niece, Alicia Ibanez (Mel) of N. Augusta, SC and a nephew, Scott Moncrief of Halfway, MO.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Moncrief, Mel Ibanez, Matthew Morrow, Chris Hart, Rob White and Lance White.
