DOTHAN. . .Ann Haywood Adams, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday afternoon, January 16, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 79.


 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Fred Bacher officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the mortuary. Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.


Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Human Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL 36302.


Ann Adams was born in the Capps community of Henry County, daughter of the late Benjamin David Haywood and Bessie Lee Chandler Haywood. She lived in Newville before moving to Dothan in 1959. Ms. Adams was a member of the Dothan Country Fellowship. She was a retired employee of Sony Corporation in Dothan. Ms. Adams was preceded in death by a son, Randall Eugene Sanders and two brothers, Theo Haywood and Leo Haywood.


Surviving relatives include twin sons, Troy Adams, Dothan; and Tracy Adams (Tammy), Ashford; a sister, Agnes Jones, Newville; a brother, J. D. Haywood (Ellen), Newville, four grandchildren, Chelsea Adams Murphree (Colby),  Courtney Adams, Dallas Adams and Taylor Adams;  a great-granddaughter, Emma Claire Murphree several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Gail Chandler.
